Forum rules
The information on this page is subject to change. Common sense will get you a long way though and the forum moderators will be around to kick your ass when you break a ruleWhile the type of behavior that is not allowed usually seems quite obvious, time has showed us that setting the rules is very important. So here goes (we apologize for the strong language):
1. Don't be an asshole. We really mean this. If you can't say anything nice or constructive, don't say anything at all. We're here to share visual creations, get some feedback and learn.
2. Stay on topic. Not just because it's irritating to see a topic take a spin into a completely unrelated direction, but also because the people who can reply/contribute is much higher if it is posted as a new topic.
3. No spamming. If you're sole reason is to use the forum as a megaphone to get people to look at your stuff, forget it. The forum is not meant for this stuff and the people who you try to reach will think you're an ass.
Well how can I get people to see my work then? I hear you ask. Bring up your new artwork or whatever in context. Post is in the Work in Progress forum while you're working on it. If it relates to another persons WIP, bring it up. Tell him/her to have a look at it (and the rest of the viewers).
Advertise yourself in a sneaky way... it's far less irritating
4. Do not link to illegal software, do not ask for cracks, patches, serials, anything. We are not source a of criminal activity, if you want to get into that stuff, take it somewhere else. Breaking this rule can get you banned from GFXartist
5. Write in English or provide English translations.
Despite the fact that GFXartist members come from all over the world, GFXartist is an English speaking site. Please write in English so everyone can understand you. Alternatively, if you do write in your first language, provide an English translation.
