Ok....there is currently a bug in creating answers for polls, otherwise I would just creat a new poll for input. Basically, I want to know: "What kind of postings do you want to see as front page news?" 1. Interviews by industry pros? 2. Innovations in software or the business of software creation 3. Contests 4. News about books or websites relating to both digital AND non-digital art 5. News about possible success stories of your fellow GFXA members? 6. Tutorials In addition I want to know what you DON'T WANT to see from the list above. If there are any other ideas feel free to express them, but I request we keep this one thread on topic as I want it to be a quick reference for future news postings. So save the silliness for the Self Show.

I'd say : #1, with the addition of interviews with selected gfx members. #2 #3 and #4 if it's really worth mentionning. Not that the other points are not important...but I'm not sure they belong in the "news" section. Tutorials should simply be added in the tuts section of gfx, while success stories could be posted in the forum... J.

PS my personal opinion GFX news should be about GFX and a little bit about the out side world ok maybe 50/50 for the longest time all they talked about was 3d programs and interviews about people I have no clue who they are about... I do want to say I am now clicking on the news buttons on the front page they have been pretty interesting the thumb nails are getting people to click! hehe I would like to also see news about our GFX people maybe some interviews like HOON or any of our GREAT (top artists here at the site) I dont wanna keep mentioning names cause then I might tee off some members if I didnt mention them so i will leave it all about the great HOON yes I would like to have a GFX shrine all about the hoon! (you guys know im teasing right?) *evil grin* OH and a friendly reminder!!!! I wanted to do the interviews if I do see one of you green guys doing it I am going to get jealouse! and I might start making GIFs again *first step is, admitting you have a problem* PSS I would also like to see GFX members making TUTS! ok im on a roll I better go now and let someone else talk bye bye OK nope I have to say one more thing here!!!!!!!!! just noticed there was a news posted for 3D TUT (Pelting Tools - for Maya)ok this is GREAT but since 3d is not even nominated for GFX elite and is basically treated like poo here for comments and vote count why so much 3d info?? not for nothing I love 3d 'love it...' BUT why don't they give some love to the 3d GFX MEMBERS! if you don't believe me hit the 3d category and see for your self! told ya I was on a roll! (someone please block me from this thread!) just a note...I published a new contest and will be making a sticky thread since news seems to disappear once it's off the front page. Edit: Done Ongoing Comps as of Dec 05 [Message edited on 12/19 @974]

Keep in mind, that mods/admins PUBLISH news....many times the news stories are contributed by members. If you are to submit a story, it best be fleshed out with all relavent links, thumbnails etc. Not that I haven't had fun making the thumbs for all of these contests, but it does save time if you have them ready. Perfect example is the PhotoshopCAFE contest I just published. Daveymonster sent me a PM...he typed it up, gave me the permissions from them to use the banner. They were going to make the thumbs, but I got impatient and wanted you guys to see the contest asap.
