Ok folks sorry to say that unfortunately if it's too good to be true it still usually is.  yashio has been caught stealing artwork from others and claiming it his own. Thanks to the tips from fellow GFX members (who shall remain nameless so they don't get flamed) I was tipped off and given a few links to follow. His artwork has not been unpublished yet, as the Admins will probably do more than I can with just unpublishing a work, they could delete his gallery, his name and maybe an IP Block. No argument is sound without proof, so here you go. First a screen shot of Yashio's post.... CLICK ON ALL IMAGES FOR A BIGGER VERSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This original artwork can be found here: at http://blossom.lolipop.jp/ anime Page details: This is the correspondence I had with the ORIGINAL ARTIST today....a woman from Poland over at Deviant Art: http://iruka-loves-kakashi.deviantart.com Along with her conformations...I was given a link to Yashio's photobucket album which contained more stolen works. Including one from a friend of the girl from DA http://photobucket.com/albums/v675/Miist/ Photoshop My original sources and my new sources at DA are currently on the hunt to find the orignial artist for some of his more popular works here. Today I know he published another work (the samurai with pink hair and little girl..somewhere in all my links above) but quickly unpublished it. This is not the first time this has happened, and it won't be the last, but rest assured the as long as members keep diligent watch for acts of thef, and work with the moderator team we can greatly hinder blantent acts of disrespect ot our craft such as this.

Many clues led to him being suspect. Publishing works from 'a few years ago..the guy is only 17 and THAT ADVANCED Changing of styles so suddenly The claim to other members (who have their pm's saved) - his family was poor (so how could he afford the equipment software at 13-17) - he claims he's never posted online before Why JUST GFX?? Why not CGTalk where some of this stuff belongs? Or DA where anime is a strong genre?? And no really techinical background to support creation...just generic descriptions or a whole sentimental story [Message edited on 01/21 @877]

DON"T FEEL BAD FOR BEING FOOLED!!!! You appreciated a work that was meant to be appreciated...it just wasn't his I'm just mad that i had to spend my whole Saturday dealing with this...instead of my own artwork. [Message edited on 01/21 @878]

I knew something was fishy when he said he made a vector for the first time and came out like a professional I knew it! no way in hell a newbie can produce a vector like that NO way. too good to be true also before all this (this afternoon) he had this image in his GFX gallery http://www.deviantart.com/view/26527482/ and some of you might have seen it posted but he took it down I do believe it was cause someone PMed him and asked questions and he tweaked and nuked the post. if I would have known I would have taken a screen shot I hope he can explain him self why he did this so UN COOL!

Normally I would just unpublish his work...but the members need to see this...The mods sweep alot of drama under the carpet every day, there is alot of bullshit that you guys never see, which is a good thing. Well include me in aswell while you're at it; I'm pretty proud I got that gut-feeling a few days ago and PMed you about it....call me an ego-maniac, but hey; I'd like his flame on this one. The only doubt I had was the thought that he might 'just' be a wonderboy....but seeing his age, the fact that he mentioned works from years ago, the way his techniques showed little comparing features except for some, the fact that he deleted his self-portrait right after I questioned him about it....... So go ahead and reveal me as one of your sources because I'm proud to be an assistent in this story. I HATE FAKES! yay for the alert ones on this, and yay for Brett being so self-sacrificing.

out of all the artists on this site no one knows who's art work the others belong too? we need to find out who the true artists or artists these art works belong too and tell them what has gone down. I have screen shots of all his posted GFX art work and don't feel bad people I fell for the whole rotten joke too.. I cant wait till martin flattens him I hope its embarrassing. This site needs to see what is going on right under our noses! A-H is the real deal though! It is really hard to fake being that crap! ahahah it's just stupid that people would do that, i mean it's not like there's a cash prize for whoever gets the number one top ten spot, this site is for people to get better and improve their artistic styles, the only reason why this happened is because of people's greed for approval and votes. Many people participate in the artist community here just to get approval and votes, and that's really missing the point. At first even I was obsessed about becoming elite and gathering as many points and attention as i could. But I grew up a bit, thanks to the help of the tough love from the mods and involved people. I not only refined my skills as a photographer, but also my patience and overall demeanour towards other people. If you try your best, you get alot more out than what you put in. So votes don't mean shit, and neither does elite. As long as you are becoming a better artist and a better person it's all good. [Message edited on 01/21 @900]
