The web makes it quite hard to do some real hands on learning, paintovers are the answer. Put your works in progress or nearly finished works up here and point out that tough or tricky part that you can't get right. Other can take your work and show you how they would solve it. That way you get some tips and the painters can do some more pimping. Hows that? Other than that it makes good topics to feast your eyes on so get going.

I think you meant to say "primping". You have "pimping" in your post. :)
I am sorry it took me so long to find this part of GFX. I have a few pieces that I have gotten stuck on that I wish I could have had help with.

Are you sure that would not cause the learning artists more strife than benefit? :)

For one, having done it right yourself through all tral and error, even under someone's guidance, is quite different from looking how someone else fixed it.

For another, think of how it could look if some experienced painter takes a beginner's work and does a better job on it. I see endless potential for depressions and feeling of worthlessness here...

What do you think?

P.S. Coming to think of it, redlining may be a good idea. By no means doing anything to the beginners' pictures - it's theirs, let them practice with their own hand, just give them a budge in the right direction...

Hmm, I can see a lot of good in this though... remember when you just couldn’t get something right in your drawing class and your art teacher would take your pencil away from you *as much as we all hated it* made just the smallest amount of lines just so you could see it in a different light, then you could try it yourself? If I understand it right this is what I think Martin is saying...the person will not paint over the picture completely, just might help out a bit if you are say stuck on a hand? Though I agree, red lining might be the best route for this! The only potential problem with this is maybe with differing styles, but no reason to just give it a try, and see what becomes of it! (Personally even circling an area that needs to be focused on might even be helpful...but that might be a lot of red circles, lol)

This is a tricky subject though, because I can see it from Arenhaus side to-That if someone got carried away and made a masterpiece out of something a person hadn't been working on long...but this is a "learning environment", and everyone is at a different point with there styles and skills...and maybe seeing your work at other points and styles might open your eyes to new potential? hmm...just maybe:)
