Ok i'll keep this short and sweet guys. Recently there have been a number of people mouthing of at each other in the forums, either on comments on artworks, or discussion threads or whatever.

I'll put this simply - do NOT let any personal issues come into your posts. If you have a beef with someone - that's your prerogative, but that does not mean you are allowed to let it spill out onto the forums / artworks. I have just had to delete and edit a number of posts purely because they had no relevance to the threads / artworks they were posted on. If you think someone's comment is stupid, fine, think that but don't think that your comment is NOT being noticed.

Seriously guys n gals, just tone it down some. Myself and brett are here to be moderators for the ARTWORK, not to have to focus on bickering. Keep it off the forums.

To anyone that this doesn't apply to thanks for reading / posting as you see fit. For those it does apply to, read it and actually take it on board.
  • Meph
**Side note: discussion on this is fine if you have any input, but the second it goes off topic or becomes abusive, the thread will be locked**

Well, sorry for making comments that I thought were constructive.
Acida and Renyn are good artists (and much better artists than I am), sure, but I guess they were too good to stay and take some criticism, eh?
We all do criticism, all with the thought of making the artworks better, and no one is forcing you to do what we say. We don't tell people how their art should be, we just make some suggestions. If you think your piece is perfect, write something in the description so we don't make any crits, and praise it saying "Great work! Wonderful! Awesome!"
What is this? DA?
And taking some criticism is no excuse for insulting people. If you're just gonna insult people for making some negative comments, and leave the site when they answer, well that's your choice.
Just my two cents. You can go and vote 0 on my "snapshots" now.
(And sorry for going off-topic)

Huh? What? What's with all the drama? Perhaps it's 'cause I haven't been all that active or involved with the community, but I just can't understand why there's so much drama going on here every now and then. It's an art site afterall. It can't be that hard to be professionally courteous regardless of how personally familiar you are or aren't with that other person... can it? o_o

Wysiwyg | 10/19/2007 @535 | Editedit post
It's the internet....people come...people go. There's actually other art communities out there you know that have nuances that GFX doesn't have. It's all about different strokes for different folks.

If you are limiting your online art community experience to just GFX you are missing out.

GFX has always had drama since I can remember and I have been here since '04 so it is nothing new.

That's what I'm talkin about. It's an art site, therefore, there are bound to be some criticism/negative comments. Why would anyone go around insulting others that don't like his/her work? Not everyone has the same tastes.

There are many profiles of elite members & normal members that have no/hardly any pieces of artwork in their accounts, they merely exist to be remembered, to be deleted or to keep the number counts up. I agree with Meph for doing what he did, many posts and threads were getting out of hand - and although Renyn may have left to prove some point, hes has definately succeded in showing us all how childish a grown man can be.

"I just realised how useless art communities are these days" Yes Renyn, especially when people do what you did.
Art belongs to the community, your fans and all the people who appreciate what you have done and want to learn from it or use it to better themselves.Taking that away makes those people feel like theyve been stolen from.

While I can see why everyone is upset about some of Renyn's comments....it is rather tiresome when those who say what they feel rather than what people want to hear are considered the bad guy.

Everyone gets upset when you name someone specifically....that's not rude, that's addressing the problem directly.

I post my work up here to GET criticism, to find where I'm missing something about my picture. If I can, I alter the existing pic, if I can't then I take all the criticism on board for future pieces/ YES we all like to have our work praised but praise in itself helps nobody improve.

Having said that I like seeing constructive criticism, ie "Dude, nice work. Your anatomy is a little off, I think you need to make her neck longer, and shorten her left leg. I don't think her right hand should twist quite that far."

Rather than deconstructive criticism, ie "Dude, nice idea but your anatomy sucks, go study Loomis". Which I see all to often up here.

Please DO point out the flaws in the work, but say how to correct them, or the only thing you achieve is to demoralise the artist.

As my old boss once taught me, "Don't bring me problems, bring me solutions."

First, i didnt took off my work to prove something, i just didnt wanted my work to be involved into all this.
Second, you probably have no idea why i said all that on the forum like probably everyone else who complain.
Half people understand perfectly what i did and the other half absolutely don't. Maybe the way i took to talk about it was rude... true. But tell me, how i was supposed to say that ?! You guys can't stop talking about accepting critic and all on artist works, but none of you can accept critic about yourself or someone else. Brilliant ~

I still wonder why that much people got involved into all this... i receive emails and msg from people i don't even know bitching me when they have nothing to do in all that lol. Seriously ~
It's like padrino who send me msg that he will come to Canada to kick my ass cause i insulted moser and telling right and left ass . ass . ass . fucker lol. Sorry men, but you are more insulting then i am lol. Honestly, stop sending me msg even if it's freaking funny.

Sorry Pam, i'm not going to apologies or say sorry :(
If people can't accept what i said, its too bad. Cause some people do accept it and understand. It was shocking and rude maybe, but it's how it is. I don't get it really, almost none of you know why all that started but everyone have something to say.. ohh ya, the community part. I forgot ~ I was unable to get these people together to have a clean convo around some drinks, i will say sorry for that... no more.

Sorry Pam...

So what you're saying is; saying something like "I would crop 2 centimeters from the left to keep a better aspect" and saying "you don't know how to use a camera" are the same?
