"Remember me" doesn't work for me

I don't visit gfxartist much anymore because it's such a hassle to log in every time. Automatic login works for me on some sites, but not on others - I have the same problem on CGTalk and drawingboard.org. I use Firefox. The problem first appeared about two years ago and has persisted throughout a bunch of browser upgrades. I've checked my browser settings and firewall, and I've tried deleting the cookie. Nothing seems to help. Anybody have any ideas?

None at all man sorry, i've never heard of this problem before. You could always try contacting the firefox guys and seeing if they've had any issues with this before. Other than that just make sure you don't have any spyware etc on your comp.. sorry i can't be of more use, but this is an odd problem

No, I don't have any spyware. And it's not a very unusual problem; with Google, you can easily find hundreds of people with the same problems (using many different browsers). Unfortunately, reading a couple of hundred posts about the problem (plus searching the Firefox forums) hasn't helped me find a solution.

Ok this might seem silly, but does work sometimes.... have you tried re-installing your browser? Sometimes it may just be a small hiccup with the installation..... which wouldnt necessarily have been fixed even if you upgrade as you do not really uninstall the actual browser.

Secondly, does this only happen on one computer or on more than one computer?

I hade confronted the seem problem in some sites.... usually logging in problem been in cookies..

Check to see if Firefox isn't set to clear your cache everytime you close the browser. Other than that it's a cookie issue, or whatever spyware/anitvirus software you may be running is preventing it.

I've used auto login for GFX for years in IE 6, and FF 1-3.0 across several computers and never had an issue...maybe I'm just lucky

Actually I have the same problem ever since I have been on this site, I'd thought that by remember me it implied the autocomplete for passwords and so on, but now I know that this is a problem as I have already reinstalled IE and also tryed safari on this site and I have the same result.
