Hey everybody! Today I was struggling with my another 3d model. I found some mistakes with it's fins.I'll correct them soon.Here take a look.I'm so happy it's close to whale killer look

If by whale killer you mean killer whale the under belly needs to be pushed up a bit, the fins are larger, thicker and should be placed a bit higher an just a touch closer to the tail there is a small dip near the eye where the bidy goes in it should be smooth the top fin is too far back and for visual pleasure I'd make the tail fin a lot bigger. Despite the anatomy errorrs Its really good( I spotted them because I've been drawing marine life since I was 9 so I've gotten accustomed to critisizing my work).

No!You help me a lot - I've already widened the fins - I see some mistakes by myself. It's just my 3d skills aren't that great and not everything goes as planned About belly - I doubt it - I found a lot of pictures that show them with quite a huge one and I like the belly - I don't like this models of "cigars"body killer whales. The fat killer whale seems more alive to me. Maybe I'll lift it just a little bit. Now I'm struggling to make it's teeth and tongue

The one you've seen with big bellies are the ones who are pregnant or those which are letting too much water into their system because their blow hole isn't working and their about to die not suddenly ofcourse. Here is a profile(side view) of a healthy killer whale. Yes they have a little bit at the bottom but thats pretty much it. I was giving you information about the way a killer whales body looks like in real life, I'd assumed that was what you were aiming for. BTW the fat killer whale looks more alive to you, hate to break it to you but most of the fat ones ith big bellies are very very unhealthy to a point of near death.

pyrokid ,hey,man,don't take it so serious. I didn't know it's that important to you and to the whales I'll fix the belly just for you - if it's not half day of work I should prepare it for college presentation - but the point is - the presentation is next week and except for this cutie I've got to make the whole underwater house and render it And I'm just a beginner..Maybe when I have some free time afterwards I'll get back to this - for my own fun. Anyway thanks for providing so much information. Jie, it's Maya 8. Pretty complicated program but I'm starting to enjoy it ^_^ And thanks for entering my wip

That's ok..In my case you can always consider a deadline cause this is my life - just one big continuous deadline. Here I took off the belly,made this cute little hole on his head and modeled his mouth and tongue. I don't know how to show it correct cause I still bad at animation.And I made his fins a bit longer.The teeth are on the way and I'm struggling now on sewing the uvs. This wasn't supposed to be too realistic from the beginning - I guess I should have told it. He's part of my little story - my task is to make "animal's home and his pet".My animal is carp that want to bring his revenge to humanity for eating fish. So I'm building his house under the water. And guess who's gonna be his pet? ^_^

I've prepared the little carp's house.There're still nothing inside unfortunately.But I've got tomorrow to fix it.Here the killer whale guarding the house - I'm gonna add the chain there.The cave texture is frustrating..I don't have time so this would be like that for now =/

I know it's been a while..But I want to keep this wip updated. I think it would be interesting to follow it after I'll finish the project and maybe you'll give me some useful advice So I've started to work on the owner of the house and the whale killer - Carp ^_^ It's just a start but he's not that complex as his exoskeleton is. ooops that's later

hmm.. - this is his colors - b/w and red spots. Maybe when I'll learn to render and put some nice lights at the scene it would look better ^_-
