help keeping a wacom in good condition
voze | 03/18/2008 @350 | Edit edit post
hey there guys, I'm getting a tablet tomorrow for the first time (intuos3 9x12) and I've been reading some threads about how people manage to scratch theirs up, wear them out and damage then through general use

someone mentioned something they recommend you put over the top of the drawing surface to keep it protected (sheet of mylar or something, whatever the hell that is)

anyway, basically.. has anyone got any advice on keeping my new tablet in top condition, from their own experience or what they have heard/read et cetera?

my advice
try not to eat or drink by your tablet
DONT DRAW HARD if you draw hard all the time your nub will need to be replaced
keep children or anyone away from your tablet only you use it.

I have lost track how long I have had mine
its still in fair condition and I have never had to change the nub
sure it looks worn out but... still works great!
I have a brand new one on my new PC and I hardly use it.. I still use my old one..
so yah you take care of it it will take care of you
you dont need anything special to take care of it.

I found my fekkin cat on mine the other day!

Oh, and I would like to know what is the best thing to clean it with?

The tablet! Not the cat.

I just use screen cleaner on mine. (Tablet, don't have a cat anymore, not since I tried to clean it with screen cleaner.)
