my dream

hay there

I've been browsing this forum for a long time, gawking at the photoshop painting work here, and I've always dreamed of being able to get into it and learn to do that quality of work

i finally managed to get myself a tablet, and I'm really really keen to get into painting. I've done some sketches and started experimenting... just wondering what you guys mostly use.. just default photoshop brushes et cetera, or are there special brush packs out there that you guys also use

any other hints, tips, tutorial links, anything like that is very much appreciated!

No worries mate, other two are deleted :)

Personally, I create the brushes I need, when I need them. Sorry it's not much help.

I try to devide things into seperate layers whenever it makes sense to do so... This allows me to make changes to small aspects quickly... depending on the painting, I start with many layers then bump them down to 1 as it progresses...

As far as tutoirals Pam(kittykat) has quite the collection on her website.

I'm pretty new to digital painting aswell, I think the best way to advance(is the one I've been trying) is to try and render random objects through this I've learnt how to paint nice armour and I have recently learnt to paint hair. And I often render and paint sketches I find online, normally I google it.

I'll post some of my practises up and share some of my ideas.

This is only a crude render, I did it straight after the first reply, and if you can't read my handwriting its says(l-r) coreshadow, reflected light, light and specular light.
