Ok, here is the plan, I am heading off to the states next week and I have an old Sigma SD10 http://tinyurl.com/35877y Now I intend to remove the IR filter, link thanks to Slapo, http://tinyurl.com/4l7fg And use it exclusively for IR photography. I am fimilar with IR 35mm film but this will be my first steps into Digital IR.. What filters are people using ? any other tips ? As for the title, well if you dont help your going on the list one other thing. Anyone using this http://heim.ifi.uio.no/~gisle/photo/ir.html#focus Changing the focus? it was a must in 35mm and all lenses at the time had a little red dot to assist !

Cheers GaR,y LOL I have seen these services, but the Sigma just needs the inner filter removed and its good to go..... I am more interested in getting some pointers from the IR guys here on workflow...

I use the Hoya R72 filter. Why? cause I am cheap. It costs $38. SImilar stuff of other brands costs $250. Is it worse than other filters? I wouldn't know cause I never used others. I see many professional photographers using Hoya which may indicate it is up to the standards of those other fancy filters. I don't use the focus shift. Not sure about this, but I don't think it matters much in landscape photography. That was not helpful right? Okay, put me on the list. PS, make sure to learn about your camera IR abilities before you buy a filter.
