Help! Which camera to Buy?

Ok doke - so im looking to upgrade from a compact to a DSLR but in a bit of a rut as to deciding which one to choose - i have 2 in mind.

Nikon D40X - comes with 18-55 mm lens (10.2 mp) (£439.99)

or

Samsung GX10 DSLR - comes with both 18-55 mm and 50-200mm (£579.99)

so if u people have experience with these camera's (good or bad) could you give me some heads up please.

In that price range I'd recommend the Canon EOS 400D, but I have an affinity for Canon. The Nikon D40X is also supposed to be a great camera.
