print specifications
ncheels015 | 05/09/2008 @857 | Edit edit post
Ok so first off I am going to tell everyone Im not much of a 2D Graphic Designer. I know my way around photoshop pretty well, I mainly use it for building textures for my 3D work. However with that said. I have been assigned the task of creating a banner that is going to be printed at 18ft w x 16ft h I am having some trouble figuring out what size of a document I should start with, i am assuming like other print materials the final image output would need to be 300dpi
also with the bleed specifications Im not sure where to start. I wouldnt think I would have to create an image in photoshop or illustrator at 18ft x 16ft that would seem rediculiously large file size for transfer. any suggestions would be great. If someone could email me at either ncheels015@aol.com or cshearin@musicaldnasoftware.com with some suggestions of where i could start, and maybe you wouldnt mind if i picked your brain a bit on this stuff since its all greek to me.

Thanks in Advance

Chris

50 dpi
10800px x 9600px
for very detailed (assuming your PC's up to it)

although half that would work just fine

Else do it in vector and forget the px size

what baron said, or keep it all vector and do it 9" x 8" in illustrator.
