In the tradition of the Self Show Thread and Live Shout Out! Thread I have created the Post Your Happy Place Thread in hopes to continue helping this community grow on both a social and professional level. We've seen what each other looks like, we have heard each other's accent, but I want to know is, how are you set up? What does your think tank, your inner sanctum, your hole, your batcave, your workstation look like? -Do you have plants everywhere? Candles? Beer cans? A giant sound system for the world to hear, or headphones so no one can bother you? As I am deployed right now many wonder what my living conditions are, or how I pull so much online time while I have a mission, so this will also hopefully clear up any questions. So without further ado....here is where the magic happens for me. I look foward to see where some of the great works posted here are made.

Great idea Brett!!! I love it. I will post something later this evening. After dinner, and I get some real work done. Oh, and I have to dig up the camera from below my mess (and I will have to clean up a bit first, I don't want you all to think I'm a slob). And Brett, that is a kick-a** tablet, man. I wish I could get me one of those, and that printer in the background, and while we're at it, I'll take the KitKat bar also. Ah, never mind you keep the KitKat, I have some limited edition Twix bars with dark chocolate, UUUUUMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yummy!!

Here's mine. I was setting up my workspace the other night and said to my wife that I should post a picture up onto GFX. Brett, you and I think alike. Anyway, I use laptop computers most of the time. Her you can see that I was using 3 of them. The monitor is connected to the Powerbook. At the moment, the WACOM was not hooked up. This is my space at home. Ok! Here is my little corner of the planet. There are a few gadgets hanging out here, including an antiquated Mac (lopped off the left side). Bunches of books, CD's, DVD's, my 6X9 Wacom tablet, 19" monitor, color printer, laser printer, scanner, and random other junk.

WOOT! This is a better response than I thought I would get Ok, for some clarifications- Andy- That 'window that's in my post is blockaded so no natural light comes in, I'm in a flourecent hell. Belinda- YES IT'S A TEDDY BEAR IN MY POST! It was sent to me by my wife for Valentine's Day. My Tablet - ALL OF THIS EQUIPMENT is government owned, it took me 2 years to get them to buy that tablet...We finally get 4 Intuos 2's and a week later the Intuos 3 comes out AND TO EVERYBODY- I don't even have a workstation to call my own At least not until I get home and finally buy it. I just bought my desk right before I deployed and the only thing on it are boxes I have yet to unpack from the move. Let's keep this going people!! Labeling the pics is great, and you don't have to be in the pic, but it would be cool to see how you work. (Cigarette in the mouth, passed out on the keyboard ) [Message edited on 02/21 @313]

This is my 'Happy Place'. Yes, my happy place also doubles as a bedroom. The sun rises on the other side of that window. It gets very hot in the morning. I'd like to apologize for the mess, but it seems that all you guys have let go, so what-the-hey. Nothing special about the little censor on the left- just an award I won when I was younger- kinda makes things a dead give away to where I live, so I got scribble-happy. ^_^ (A) During my early teens, posters like this one were the ‘in thing’. Since then I’ve removed all but this one. Why? I can’t reach it. Some moron plonked a big desk in front of it. B) Quick homemade curtains. Unfortunately the colour doesn’t match a single thing in my room, and overall doesn’t block out much light. One of many ‘last minute’ mismatched additions made when I moved into this room. (C) Anatomy and art books. I’m slowly building my collection. (D) Brett and his happy place. (E) If you smell Revlon’s Fire & Ice……….it’s probably me. (F) A fan of all things soft and adorable, I have a slight Stuffed Toy problem. I actually got rid of half my toys, but the ones you see just didn’t want to leave. All these toys were given to me by other people. Cuuuuute. (G) This is the $5 microphone that made it possible for all you peoples to hear my drab voice. (H) Look here and weep, Arenhaus. Awww, it is so nice to see where you all work! Belinda your desk is so neat!, Mine looks like a total mess! Well, Belinda threw my way a good idea how to explain the stuff at my happy place! So I am also using alphabet to lable stuff and then explain what I have there. A - iPod Mini - my boyfriend Nav's gift . It is loaded full with music for inspiration. B - Acer TravelMate 230 - rather old, but in a good shape. On the screen you see an open file of PS7, with a sketch I am working on. C - My diary/daily planner, also my dearest boyfriend's gift . I plan my day there trying to squeeze in some drawing too. D - Pile of sketchbooks, the sketches you see beside that pile can be named as 'my latest lecture of Literature' (as you see it was really boring). E - A pile of fave CDs. F - My tablet, it is no Wacom, but for the time being it is enough for me G - A big mug, half full with hot choc. Yummy. H - Moblie phone - Nokia, which is a substitute for my Samsung as it broke down and now is being repaired I - Books - the pile of papers on top is the LOOMIS Figure Drawing , then there is also the Complete Book of Drawing, a book about the life and art of Leonardo da Vinci, and (for drawing and my hobby medicine) there is the Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology of the Human Body. J - My Leonardo sketch (you can view it in my gallery). K - And finally my little sister Tereze's gift - a drawing. This is not my happy place, my g/f aint in the picture, and I hate my room. This is my room, I try to keep it clean, the other half of the room consists of my stereo speaker, my bad, and my parot cage. Its nice seeing everyone elses computers and stuff and how they have them setup. This is mine, I like watching TV and stuff and yah got everything I need in here. I have a 19'" monitor and a 19" TV and a 15" TV my computer is a Pentium II 450... Im running on chopsticks, but it works great for me. A- Stuffed animals my gifriend either won for me from the claw machine or gave me they have names... Back(left to right):Ugly Fathead and Bludolph Front(left to right):Nanook and Dakota B- Pictures of my Brothers, and my girlfriend... C- My Stereo I got when I was 7 years old, I still have it, and a VCR that eates tapes D- My Camera Case E- Glass of milk, already ate the cookies F- Batter and Charger for my 20D that has not come yet, but I have the battery already G- Wacom mouse, my girlfriend has the tablet H- Scanner I - DVD's I know its not much, mostly Martial arts movies and Monty Python stuff, a long with a lot of scarey movies J - Stuff for the odors, I have 4 animals that hang in my room K- My apache helicopter model Thats about it, in the corner thats a Djembe Drum, I got for my b-day a few years back... other than that I have a few candles and what not and a bunch of wires behind my desk, but this is my setup
