Description

Eye from model Emilia, photograph taken earlier this year.

It is Me that you can see through the reflection of the eye. I was in the middle of a studio photo session fiddlering around with the cam and you can even see my wireless control, just on top of the cam, controlling the studio light equipment. :p

Always wanted to do this composition. :p Didn't even realize that I had it on the harddrive all this time... :)

Blur on sides added in post editing to get an even stronger focal point!

Hope you will enjoy it!

;)

The eye area here is near perfect Patrick and I like the blue hue you gave this. It works well. You've really erred with the blurring of the outer areas of this to the point that it's an eyesore. (No pun intended) The blur is not evenly distributed around the photo and in some places it has overlapped onto the frame. I think you should have blurred this evenly around the photo's perimeter and THEN added your frame. The final product would have looked much more professional. Bottom line ... an excellent image that has been degraded by some sloppy post-processing.

@MsMichelleLynn & @cupcake:
Thanks for your constructive critic! :)
I knew somebody would comment on the not even blur applied.
I personally still kind of like the end result and will keep it this way
(or maybe I am just to lazy to change it now). :p

Love the reflection! I spent endless time to remove all the reflections from a photo of my eye, but all the reflections I got weren't nearly as good as this!

Avatar blackshad

 11/20/07 @821

i'm not a fan of the blurr indeed
reflection is great, and the eye is nice too, very sharp
i still think it would be better with makeup, so the texture would be more interesting, but might be personnal taste
well done :) +9

What an impressive photo! Great concept and extemely well executed! It's incredible how you were able to catch that reflection in the eye.
I really like how the eye and the reflection are so defined and sharp and smooth against the texture of the skin arround the eye, that makes the photo very interesting and indeed helps to make the reflection the focal point of the photo. The blue tone looks great. And like many others already said, I think the blur looks odd, I mean, I don't mind the blur on the photo but I think the frame would look better if it wasn't blured.
Still I think this photo is fantastic!
I wish I could give you 10 but my top mark is 9 so 9/9

what a fascinating photo! i love the idea of capturing yourself through the eyes of another. technically it's flawless also, but i don't need to tell you that..i love the blur, it fits the tone and subject really well, giving it a surreal element.
