Description

One of Saraakallio's rock paintings from our archaeological excursion to North Karelia last week.

The running elk is the most famous motive of Saraakallio. Some of the paintings are over 6 600 years old and the tradition continued to the early bronze age. The paintings are protected by a thin layer of silicon dioxide.

Amazing history and place...
But I think that it's hard to compose a photograph that has a lot of impact from something like this. I think this needs something else to make it really interesting.
