Taken during the first ever RedBull AirRace in Portugal during 2007. (same day as Smoke On by

Vasco )
As I said before, One of the best sport events I’ve seen!
As you can see this was taken a long time ago, I haven't had much time to take photos these last few days and I've been seeing some selective desat works, as I love them I decided to get an old photo and work it a little!
You may notice a bit of noie but the place was filled with smoke from previous airplanes runs!! hence some of the noise!

nice desat work...IMHO i think you should have avoided to include those 4 red bull's poles in the compo...would have been more interesting with just the red plane...just my taste...

on my monitor it looks a little dark.
I wish the red plane was a little brighter.

All said it is still a great capture.

It's a really nice shot. What makes me think; Well.... - is that the visually storytelling pointer of the image, the smoketail, is not really a pointer much of the way, and a moment of utter speed gets confused, stops.

I'm a sucker for desat, but in this case I think the background still commands attention. Too much. And (though being a lover of gritty backgrounds) in this case I would prefer a lower level of contrast in in background, maybe even having the BG blurred slightly.

And I think the plane should be slight desaturated as well because the darkness of its red blends it into the BG.

On the upside of all my 'well...''s it's only interesting to comment because the photo actually is a nice one

I think you have a good composition, but based on the above suggestions it could use a different treatment. This image is all about "Red Bull" to me. Not smoke, not the plane.

Do bring back all the color, blur the background so the sign isn't getting so much attention, and make the red plane stand out. Take a second look at the darks and lights in the background. I'm assuming those are trees in the background, however, they're so dark and colorless it's as if the hillside is a black cloud. To keep "Red Bull" from standing out so much you could tone down the red until the plane's red stands out more.
