Excellent work on "Lost in Time." The textures and lighting are especially nice, which the full version really showcases. Great attention to detail!

Beautiful job on the metal, but I think the sand looks a little odd; perhaps the grains are a little too large, and a little too shiny?

very beutiful composition, metal work is brilliantly detailed, its a slight pity about the depth of field, i see its blurred the edges of the watch into the background, a limitation of the software i assume, (or is that photoshoped?) the sand I think looks good, but I am guessing you have masked it out in photoshop to get it to cover the watch right? it seems not quite grounded on to the watch, and doesn't follow the surface, i might be wrong. Still its all fixable if you have.... time!!!

Thanks for your constructive crits! Here's a wireframe of it: http://www.inetgrafx.at/SAV-WIRE-98.jpg

oh ok so that wasn't masked in, fantastic then, if the sand just casted a little more shadow maybe it could really boost its realism, great detail inside!

It's perfect! Looks soo real!

nicely done. the bugs, i think, are a very nice touch. It makes me uncomfortable to look at this because i keep thinking of the grains of sand in the cogs of the gears. my mind goes "that's going to be soo hard to clean!" so it's obviously realistic. something about the feeling of age and placing it in an intensely detailed natural background reminds me of the Myst series of games. i like it very much.

Excellent work I-NetGraFX! I especially like the way the sand looks - this has to be one of the best sand-fx renders I've seen!

Would you consider writing a tutorial for us C4D users on how you created the sand effect?

I'm not a 3d artist so I cant really help on the technical side, but it does seem flawless =) I love the bugs! Tiny details like that can add so much of a story to a picture. With the majority of the picture being in the goldish tones, the bluish grey screws really stand out. Which makes an interesting -small- contrast. I love the sand and wish to walk in it :) The only thing that bothers me is that the blur seems to appear a bit too close but other than that: beautiful!! Id give it a 10 but it'll settle with a 5/5. Good job ^^

Erm, wow. I didn't really have a first impression save that I really liked the cleaness of the render and the texture of the metal. But it's the detail on the piece that's really amazing; I love the fact that you can actually see grains of sand, and the bug just rounds the render up so well. +8/8

This is truly talented, haunting and yet so matter of fact. Like the crawling critters, tiny details~big difference:)

Great feel and details. I agree that the softness of background seem too close to the foreground, but then it is not really disturbing as such at all. This is a true artwork.
