it is an awesome picture, though, some crits
- the hair is cut off rather horizontally on the top. despite what the picture may look like, you're the artist, you can change your reference to fit your work. i would suggest putting more value into the hair at least at the top
- there's so many details in the eyes and the texture of the skin and suddenly, a blob for an ear. very distracting...
- the bone structure of the nose is very curved... the bone under there could never do that, even if broken. it's quite off and to see how this is a realism drawing, it's a HUGE distraction. the viewer is seeing his face dead-on, so the ball of the nose should be exact center above the dent above the upper lip.
- it's a bust portrait.....and the neck cuts off very abruptly. despite what he may be wearing or how the reference looks, i'd add a little more transition from the neck area below to the black. perhaps some fabric or hint of clothing or nudity. something...
- the curvature on the face, the detail of it, is astonishing and precise. you'd need a magnifying glass to scrutinize most of it. when it comes to the neck, it seems rather round and plump compared to the face. he has quite a large collection of wrinkles in the face but not in the neck. also, we don't see any bone structure in his neck, even if relaxed, we'd see more shape.
+10 for the technique and +6 as a portrait = +8 overall

starqueen - I can't show the picture because I can't find it on the net. I don't have the magazine I used because I drew this portrait more then a year ago. Anyone who has this pic is welcome to show it here. Other pics of Polański are available f.i here http://tvp.pl/images/2005/06/29/247724/img200.jpg or here http://www.e-teatr.pl/pl/zdjecia/rezyserzy/o-p/(150x0)polanski.jpg But I don't think this is a picture artoonator wanted to see.
Anyway thanks for the comment.

This is one of your good works. But I do agree with starqueen on most points, although I don't mind the neck being cut of, fits the design somehow. I love the impact of this piece.
