My first submission here, so, here we go:

This is, actually, just a feather lying on an amazingly thick algae-thingy at our lake here in Duisburg, Germany.

It is underexposed on purpose, to make it feel and look more intense. The "correct" exposure just didn't feel right.

I like it.
I love the DOF, It adds even more emphasis to the feather, almost as much as the saturation difference. The dark problem is there, if was a little brighter you might have gotton a stronger color from it.

The color of whatever the hell that is helps it overall.

Well, I actually didn't even want more color from it.. I think the almost monocoloured background adds to the "solitude"-feeling of the pic

The composition is interesting. I like the dark areas combined with the white feather floating on top. The positioning of the feather beaing off center is good too!
Only minor crit would be to wish for a sharper feather...

Keep them coming!

Simple...but really nice composition....very good first submission....a little noisy and may use a little more higlights...but just my taste.

This poor feather has lost its bird!

I think this image needs a little more contrast. But it's wonderful nonetheless. Also, there's a couple of little white dots towards the right of the image I would get rid of.
