Description

DEDICATED TO MY LOVELY FRIEND CHRISTINA....AUDENTIA.

Picture taken yesterday....."Day of the dead" at the cementery of Santa Tecla El Salvador.
I wish I could credit the author of the sculpture....I couldn't find the name...All that I know is that most came from Italy and they are very old.

Wow, love the sky here.. it's very threatening.. in a way. She seems to be surrounded by light.. Very nice clarity in this photo..

Great detail here is the Jesus statue looking down on her.

Great Carlos!

I also love the sky, The light behind the head adds an angelic feel, and the colours here are fantastic. +10/10

Well done Carlos on another fantastic shot!

Iv'e said it before and I'll say it again Carlos. You are a master of composition. You make this statue come to life! very nice. One minor critique Dear ... the small black spots throughout the statue ... I think you should have heal brushed them out even though they were an original part of the scene they are still a little bit (only a little) distracting.

PS I am impressed with the statue of jesus over her shoulder apparently looking down over her, great idea!!!

Excellent work!

Vheers Carlos :)

Lovely.. really nice.. something about the background I find really appealing.. The tiny little man behind the angel's wing is not so distracting before you see him :p I find it hard to look away from it now that I've seen him.. but oh my god how beautiful this picture is.. I would like to have this on my wall.. large format..

This composition has it all Carlos!
You have a mind of a genius!
Only little minor suggestion is to have just a slight more space between the statue and the right side. Now it looks very tight, but that does not prevent me from giving my max! +10 (it has become almost a routine now...)

Good photograph.

But how can it be the for- and background are equally sharp?

Avatar Madanapale

 11/04/05 @623

Arne...Artoonator.......there is no photomanipulation at all....I just used the smallest diaphragm I could and a wide angle.....that explains the depth of field....
You are suggessting that I am cheating!

Avatar Xris

 11/07/05 @164

I'm stunned by the quality and balance of greyscaling here Carlos - every grade is flawless and clearly present, without burning on one side nor over-saturation on the converse. The lighting is so precise, it's almost surreal.

This is by far 'the' best greyscale composition I have ever seen. Speaking of composition, this too is smart, well planned and executed.

I'm totally impressed! +10

ahh very nice mr, you have really made this beatiful angel come to live, i like that you used a low angle when you took this photo, that makes the sky more dramatic, also i like how the other (jesus?) sculpture watches over her :)

At first let me tell this is a great photo :)
I love most the angle of it the way you took
2ndly it'd be better if the church was not there...haha...actually you'd nothing to do with that ;)

Avatar headhake

I'm last ~:0...

This photo is fantastic...I'm gonna divide my comment :

first: the main subject, the angel, is fantastic. This is because of the lighting, the contrast, the scale of greys and the prespective you used...

second: the background...I love the other figure backwards, it gives something to this photo...the sky is fantastic to this subject, all that clouds contrast with the peace that the angel gives...fantastic...

third: i would change a thing is this photo...i would cut a little bit on the left because of the back. I think it distracts a little bit and it would make the photo more angelic in my point of view...i think the building is already a bit cut so if it was a little bit more it only would improve as i already said...but anyway this photo is masterpiece...

a MASTERPIECE...fantastic...

Hugo Zenha

ps: I have put this one in my top favourite works in my so called fovourites in my profile...:)

I love the way the statue flows, you captured a great angle. The background is cool too, sort of like a B&W infrared shot

Avatar herrerojulia

Avatar starqueen

 11/14/05 @727

Again, the way you took pictures of this sculpture and architecture goes to show your artistic ability. At first I was going to say that I wish the sculpture had more light...but no, I don't think it should now - because I noticed the light exaggerating emphasis on the cross and Jesus(is it? lol I'm a little dead today)

The clouds... are amazing. To me, the picture itself looks sad.. and mystical. Good work, though I prefer the sculpture on black as you did before. Two different moods though! +9
