Description

I made this wallpaper over the course of the last couple weeks, kept changing it over and over. Had a rough month and this pretty much shows how I was feeling at the time. Hope you like it, thanks for viewing.

Great image. I like the slightly oversized chair, I guess that symbolises a sort of vulnerability? Nice!

thanks all, glad you like it, and yes the oversized chair was to emphasize his smallness in the world around him

the title works very well here with the concept and it's execution (especially the signs)...!
the shot is awesome of course!
but to me the whole thing was more appealing if the signs weren't there
(guess you had to change the title then and the concept was particially killed :()
still very very nice!

Josh nice concept, but my only critic would be the pole perspective with the flooring n the chair...
In my view the boy alone would have done justice too....but it's your destination that you have to choosen...so all the best! Everyone has a "rough time", dont give up hope, friend....

 01/26/06 @773

hooomm.... i think you must spend alot of time about this work , agian... : the image seems boring too much... but for your hard work in this image : +7

Avatar SudnDeath

 01/26/06 @889

boring is the point of it.. minimalism, kid is all alone, if there was a lot going on around him it would take away from what i was trying to get across... sitting alone in the dark.. :) but thatnks for your crit and time :)

love the concept, beautifull and dramatic photo, my favorite one of yours

Avatar stymied

 02/24/06 @728

wow. like how the chair dwarfs the child - gets the point of feeling small and self-doubting across very well. this is why i agree that the piece would have still worked if the photo of the child stood alone, but as a concept/wp, the signs also works well, even though they might make the emotions driving this piece too obvious. it would be interesting to see what an effect it would have if you left some/all the signs blank. lovely work.

Avatar DreamShadow

 03/01/06 @720

wow - it looks absolutely amazing - i think i would go destination ... seeking i prefer not to think about the others -it would certainly make me feel sad...

Top marks from me! A little late, but still.... :p

PrettyPixel

 03/22/06 @268

You should sell that to some huge company as a DVD menu for a horror/psychological thriller movie. That's what it reminds me of, very nice!

Avatar Almost-Human

 04/06/06 @070

I agree with Prettypixel it would suit a DVD menu, as in the options on the sign post and a still from the film in question on the right..
As for this wallpaper, the only little crit I have is I dont like the ???? sign, cant explain why I simply dont like it and the signs higher are a tab to dark for me..

Its the best I have seen so far, but have only looked at 2 of your gallery..
9+ or 10+ ... its a 10+

I do think that those signs add a bonus to the whole picture - plus the highlighted boy. Great choice and nice rendering. flawless.

Avatar curlyhair

 06/22/06 @792

He seem to be completely lost there.. But may be it's good when you still don't have a plan for the next week/month/year/life? I'm sick sometimes when I found myself following this "right" plan of life..
Interesting point.Very expressive
