Description

Ok, it looks like character designs and photorealistic portraits are the popular thing at the moment, so I'm going to try to mix it up with a series of my abstract work. This is a pen design with a charcoal background. Thanks for viewing!

Got to agree with everthing said above. Really like how you let the light in between some of the space of the outside of the wrinkles. Good job.

Great abstract! I love the shapes and textures. You have a wonderful sense of depth with this, although it may not be evident at the beginning. This is a very dynamic drawing. I have 2 different ways of looking at this because of the white area around the object. First, the object is glowing. Second, this is some remnant of a distant planet, which carries surviving lifeforms. It has entered into a cave on another planet and the glow is from the light in back of the object coming from outside. This is really wonderful Dean.

thanks for the comments guys...penbrooke, I did the line art for this in 2000, but I know exactly which wallace piece you are talking about :) ...sancho, I use Sakura pens, I posted a link to their site somewhere around here...artwithin, wow thanks for the cool intepretation, actually this image just popped into my head one day and I thought it would be a cool abstract, but that's what's so cool about abstract art...everyone can interpret the same piece in a way that suits them :)

The texture and lighting on the granite (?) block is incredible, it really feels like its coming out towards you. The deep blacks are really penetrating – great high-contrast image. Inspiring stuff.
