its a hand drawn ref of a photo but I reckon its still good enough for the drawing gallery! This is really will done. the only thing I was a bit confused about was the neck area but I realise now its a scarf thingy. The face is lovely.

There nothing wrong with posting this work, glad you did. The eyes of the dog in your drawing are realy soulful. Its almost as if what you know of your friends son and his dog leaked in. The only thing that bugs alittle is the cropping. Im not sure but I think it could be wider to the left. Great job.

Before everyone passes judgement on what is allowed or not allowed....let me explain exactly what the Guidelines say it's get more and more apparent each day that no one reads them.

In regards to photo recreations:

4.2 Exact recreations of other people's photos / images
unless sufficiently different from the original, with permission of the artist and links to the original material

Detail: A near exact sketched/line art version of another person’s image is also a recreation/copy. These recreations are rejected unless the recreation is sufficiently different from the original. Links to the original material will have to be provided and permission must be granted by the original artist. You are allowed to post recreations in the forum, including links to the original material if you want others judge / recognize your technical skill.

If this is your photo, then there is no issue This guideline was revamped to combat those essentially violated copyrighted material of photographers (like celebrity photos).

Photo-recreations IMO aren't really a demonstration of artistic knowledge as much as it is a demonstration of the application of a particular medium. My reasoning being that the light, colors, contrast, and composition have already been chosen for you.

BUT ALL THAT ASIDE This is fine for posting as I assume it's your photo.

IMO though, you should have chosen a better angle for the shot, as the 'looking down' angle really prevents the viewer from becoming attached to the subject and seems a bit cold/distant. Next time try to get on the same level as the dog. Technically you did a great job

dogs are so much fun to do. i made a dragon out of mine once. he was sleeping and then made him intoa dragon and poured lots of beer bottles around and uhm i was a weird kid @#$

woww! I thought it was a black and white photo!! really realistic. I try to find anything wrong, I swear I try, but I can't find any. except the scarf, I mean, it's hard to figure out what it is, but except that, everything is perfect. 9/9
