Description

Inspired by a fortune cookie reading "You will have a very comfortable old age."

Created in Adobe PS 6 with references from life and photos I cobbled together--plus a generous helping of imagination.

The total size was 4 x 2 ft when printed.

(P.S. The old lady is actually an old lady's head on a little girl's body. ;p)

Brill painting. Love the whole thinking behind this. Maybe a bit of shade at the chair feet wouldn't go amiss. The glass is excellent! as is the lighting and colour scheme. Top marks.

Sweeeet! Nice use of colors. I like the vibrance. A piece of the eye seems to be missing behind the glass. Still awesome! +7

The foreshortening of the old lady's/little girl's left arm is good, but doesn't seem to connect with her left shoulder... shading also causes it to stand out oddly. But as this is a very comical picture, deformaties are the norm - excellent! :)

Great picture and idea...as klyph has pointed out there are some issues with the 'older' version but very minor compared to the overall picture...nice work!

Thanks for your comments! Now that you mention it, klyph, her arm does seem disconnected (oops!); unfortunately, I can't get it reprinted. :p

I like this one a lot- concept and everything. The ellipse at the bottom of the glass thing looks a little off but the highlights at the top are great.

Hah hah...love the inspiration

I really like how you've rendered the bell jar. Agree with the slight anatomy crits. I also think maybe a bit darker of a shadow beneath the chair might be beneficial. Overall great job (thumbup)

Great use of colors! I love the bits of oranges and reds, like on the old lady's skirt for example. Very nice work on the glass, too. The lighting on the girl's fingers don't seem consistent with the rest of the picture, but they look good in and of themselves.

It's freaky seeing the old lady's head on a little girl's body. I take it you intended it to be creepy...? :)
