This is one of those paintings that just grabs your eyeballs as soon as it opens...then wont let go!!....

Great painting...let down slightly by the foreground blade, the shape and the highlights of which are all a little vague....minor point though.

I agree with Kaduflyer, but perhaps it's because there
is a tid bit too much greytones involved in the painting.
The blade could have some less muted colouring to really standout

Wow, this gives me a lot to sink my eyes into. As mentioned, the detailing is super, but I'm not quite sold on the blood This may just be personal preference, but I wish there was a bit more color to the shadows and highlights. I also feel the Death character doesn't have the same depth as the Fool (possibly because there are so many meticulously rendered wrinkles that we lose the overall form?). But don't get me wrong; I think this is excellent! I only feel free to be "negative" because the piece is so strong. :}}}
