Description

This picture tells the story of a fairy raid, and was heavily inspired by old gothic woodcut images of witch burnings among other morbid things. The priest bearing a cross appears to be a staple of witch burning images, and he just seemed appropriate here, even though I really did not intend any religious meaning to come across."

Excellent piece - love the use of the smoke to provide a simple backdrop while still implying bags of depth.
Great work...

This may sound silly but... neato burrito! The colors, the characters, the atmosphere--love it all. And I am especially enamored of that crazy halo; I've never seen anything like it before, and it's beyond cool. 8) Oooh, how I love the smoke in the background. This would make an excellent book cover! (thumbup)

Nice...nice colours, composition. The scythe disturbs me a little ...I think... the raider holds it wrong way. Very nice atmosphere.

I've had that comment before - actually he's not holding it in an offensive manner - more just for the sake of composition it is there like that. If he was wielding it, he'd have it in both hands. So to me it makes sense he's either holding it too high or too low at that point, considering its weight, and it's next position.

very cool painting, i especially love the way it seem´s the man with schyte is taunting his "opponents" by holding the schyte the way he is, stating that he is not threatened by them.. very cool, like the way the "opponents" seem to be very frightened by this man, but tries to hold theyre composure stating that he does not scare them, when in fact they do. great work

excellent work, would love to see a full version of this, my main gripe isn't the scythe, but the riders left leg, it seems too long, as though it was added as an after thoguth without consideration to where the rest of the figure is. otherwise, awesome work.
