nice composition

Excellent piece - the composition is excellent, love the way the tail whips round into the foreground. You've also captured the feeling of impact, as the dragon hits the rock, a kind of jarring, shuddering motion.

I quite like the composition
The dragon is well constructed
The head is particularly well designed
I like the hint of breath coming from its mouth
The blurring of the background doesn't work. Unless the main subject is up-close it makes the scene look like a miniature model (and even then you need to be careful)
I would expect the dragon to be more brightly lit, what with the sunlight from the sky and reflected from the snow.
Don't like the cartoony blurs of snow from its feet, there's not enough movement to warrant their inclusion
I'd have liked to have seen some more of its wings - dragons are all about wings
The sky... it's OK, but the blurred soft straight clouds indicate calm, not movement

and i totally agree with the things you said..the sky doesnt do justice to the movement I was trying to project. and as for the blurring..I actually tried not to blur them that much cause I know it wouldnt look good if I did but I guess i shouldnt have blurred them at all. And I really wanted to show the wings in the begining but when i came up with the drawing of the dragons body I thought it would be a bad idea, cause I really like the body and head and if I had shown the wings the dragons body would be shown smaller in the image and the detail on the dragon would have been lost. so, I chose to concentrate on the dragons body more.

scored ya some points, this is nice work. My only critique is I would rather see lose unfinished painting for the backround instead of blurring it. It serves the same purpose for depth of field. In my oppenion anyways, good work.

I agree that the background is a bit too out of focus. Really like the lighting, and the pose is great too...nice stance. Everyone is posting dragons lol! I have one I am gonna post soon too, everyone will be bored of dragons soon.

Alright..no more blurring for me..hehe
I'm glad a lot of you like the design of the dragon though...I spent quite sometime on the pencils. I also tried to go for a stronger looking dragon, not the typical serpent like body...I wanted him kinda solid/buff, more dinosaur like.
Anyway, still working on a new piece right now, hopefully I can submit it by next week. thanks again everyone!

The dragon is excellent! I agree about the blurred background. I see it a little boxed too, some space to the left and showing a little more wings would be nice.
