Description

The Nallian are a race of intelligent creatures that have exsisted parallel to our own exsistence for hundreds of thousands of years. Peaceful and ingenious in their technology, these creatures exsist in harmony with their enviorment. This particular Nallian is a royal advisor, wiseman and scientist. The colours on his fins reprisent his standing in sociaty, the more colourful and splendid, the higher the standpoint of the individual.

I'm starting to use my imagination again, it's been a while but it's so much more satisfying than just doing characters from elsewhere. For this one I used photoshop and painter. This marks my return to my own ideas, hope you guys like it.

Kinda in a rush..so a real quick crit (and hopefully easy fix)

Right now the side of his body towards us is as illuminated as the parts that are receeded (left arm/leg etc) giving it a bit of a flat look.

Textures...awesome.

it's always fun to see someone draw something from there head than from a source, only you juro could come up with a Nallian, cool stuff, like the textures and the details you put in there. Not as sweet as my fave of yours the aslan one but still cool!

Original character desin. I like the textures and the different colours. I'd like to see some form of ground its standing on though and I reckon those toes hurt after walking that way for a few miles. Nice work overall.

Good color tones and textures. Being a concept piece, it will be good to see you incorporate these creatures into a full-fledged artwork with complete background. Good work Glenn!

Thanks Gary, I plan on doing a whole range of concepts and perhaps drawing on these ideas for my own creativity in actual full on paintings. This could include conepts for envioroments also.

Cheers Wallace, yes the inverted thumbs certainly give his hands a deraged look, obviously their enviroment would be designed around their anatomy. And those toes were originally designed not for walking, but for grabbing branches...That would probably mean that these creatures are a few hundred runs up on the evolutionary ladder to my Kuju tree hopper creature, but of the same family

I imgine these creatures to bob up and down on their legs when communicating and taking huge strides when walking, nimbally placing each powerful toe for balence, the small trunk moving as he sniffs the air. Try to imagine one animated

Minor thing I noticed...the lower part of it's right leg (the left on my point of view)...the upper part of the metal leg warmer (don't know what it's called in it's world...LOL)...the leg doesn't seem to go in it but more of having overflowing flesh...perhaps just a tad defining of the line will help...or, you probably wanted it that way (I'm soooooo lame

)

your skill has grown in my absence, this is good work, i like how much you have expanded you color range per peice...maybe that sounds odd, put its from a different perspective...background? good conceptualization though.

A marked improvement over Lurtz as far as texture and pose are concerned. I really like the colors you've chosen - and the blue light coming from the back-right looks great. I agree that maybe a small piece of ground might be a nice addition, despite it being a concept piece.

Overall an interesting concept, and I'd love to see him in an environment sometime
