Description

I had a hard time picking this flower/weed...very prickly >_< (I'm sorry I don't know what this is...anybody has an idea?) I managed to put it in a vase but wanted it not to show in the composition. I hope you like it and thanks for viewing/commenting/voting :)

Very nice shot, only part I would change is that flower wouldn't look like it is hanging from the air.

Great tho.

There's a little story that goes with this for those of you who care to read (LIKE YOU HAVE A CHOICE - lol) ...Poor Maridol battled the humid weather, brandishing scissors like a pirate but her enemy was strong, poor lady had her hands pricked many times, the plants fought back *chuckle* Gorgeous work Maridol, simple and delicate almost like a natural fireworks display... must go find my needle now, guess I have a few thorns to dig out, eh??? ;)

Very nice 'clean' image
Wonderful contrast and detail.
I would have centered it just a bit more, but that
just personal taste.

Great going Maridol + 10

Thanks for the comments/votes :)
Robert...I'm glad you pointed that out...I was aiming for the flower to look like it's floating on air so I consciously excluded the vase ;)

A beautiful classic image. I'm not sure it needs all the space on top, but regardless it looks good!

Thanks ladies and gents :)
I hope to go back to my homeland, the Philippines, sometime soon, that I may share a bit more of my country's colour and beauty via photography...but we all try to find that wherever we are :) I may try to do some drawings in the future but at the moment my time is limited to learning photography :)
Cheers!

I like the solid black background and how you avoided including the vase in the shot. Great job.

Lovely photo. The contrast of the light flower/ plant and the black background set it off brilliantly!

Somehow this has an oriental feel to it - like one of those inlaid marquetry boxes - the colours and composition feel symbolic somehow. I can't quite put my finger on it but your capture is excellent.
I feel I'd like to see what it looked like with an even more exagerated crop - more space to the top - maybe even double it - I suppose it reminds me of those long oriental 'papyrus' scrolls.
Really stunning.

I like the minimalistic quality of this, really enhances the texture & details of the plant/flower. Good exposure and the black negative space works well. (thumbup)
