Let your imagination wander...edit: I've added an additional download. Originally I had considered uploading it as a separate shot, but decided it was too similar to this one.

IMHO, this type of border doesn't work here. I think a black border all the way around would work much better! Still, that has nothing to do with the photograph itself. Great work Brandon! +10

I think that the chair is turned to exactly the right way.
Also like the "old green" of the wall and the brown chair
Great job! 8/8

Agree with Emarts on his suggestion for cropping off the ceiling.
Has your trademark all written on it (=positive)!
06/07/06 @946
@ emarts: I agree that the floor is definitely more interesting. I could probably crop out about 25-30px of the ceiling, where the hook is, but I like the vine growing across the ceiling, so I'd leave that in. If you think this floor is interesting, wait until you see some of the other shots I'll be uploading eventually...
@ moserArtist: There's a doorway to the left, immediately outside the frame, and another window immediately to the right, hence the crop not being horizontal. I agree with your reasoning though, and probably would have done that, had it been possible. I've plenty of shots of this place, so perhaps at a later date I'll upload another perspective.
@ everyone: Thanks for all your comments and crits!

I love the jaded secondary colors. Contrast between wall and chair is so effective.

Keep shooting.

Also I don't have a problem with the brightness of the window - it contrasts with the drab interior.. which is why the chair looks so longing.
I'm getting a bit worried as to why I'm feeling so sorry for a chair but that's my problem.
The only thing I'm not convinced about is the border... at first I mistook the lower part for a heavy shadow on the floor - I can see how it works in landscape but here it seems to fight with the proportions rather than flow with them.
Checked out your 'old couple' image too - think it wins my vote. Despite being together they seem to emphasise the sense of loss and rejection.
I want to take them home.
