Hi artists!First of all, I'm sorry for having been away for so long, I've moved and I was also working. I've found time to paint a little bit though, so here's the painting I've done
I've always been fascinated by a strange mushroom called Clathrus Ruber. It was meant to be used by witches some centuries ago because of it's strange aspect and because it's very smelly. This mushroom produces a very dark cream (that's the smelly part) that contains its seeds. This "cream" is eaten by green flies mostly, that's the reason why I've added flies on the "dress".
When I was a child, I thought that it was built by small forest creatures (I would not have admitted that it was ONLY a mushroom due to all the legends about it and due to its aspect) so I've wanted to represent what I was dreaming about. I can't really explain it as I would like since my english is not very good.
I think that I've spent 50 or 60 hours on it (I don't know exactly).

I had picked some Solanum Dulcamara flowers in the forest then put them in a glass of water on my desktop to use them as a reference.
I really need to find a model that would like to pose for me because I'm a little bit tired of painting my face, so if you're interested, please tell me

Good concept, maybe you could study witches herbs and shrooms and make a series?
Compositionwise it gets a bit confusing, not only because of the positioning of the main elements, but also because of the dividation of colors.
Otherwise; really good job
btw: If you ever want to do a horror painting you can use my face. It'd fit in fine

Abou this piece...if I didn't read the comments above I wouldn't even know there are anatomical issues (or anything for that matter) with it >_<
This is just perfect. The flies even though they really belong to the environment like you said in your description, gave this the "Beauty and the Beast" symbolism.
Not a crit but just my taste...I wish the leaves on the right bottom corner had a bit of texture in them

The whole idea/concept is fascinating - and compositionally i feel it works really well - the glowing praise has already been cited just add my name to it!
Only 2 things I find a little distracting in the composition - first is the fly on her dress. That catches my eye to quickly - i feel i should see that later, I think maybe it's to realistic, to vibrant. It looks more detailed than the dress so it becomes too much the focus. It also looks a bit photo-realistic and not as 'painterly' as the rest of the image.
Second would be a slight over abundance of rain drops - i think maybe just 1 or 2 less would make it much less cluttered in that area.
