Something makes me think this one would look better in colour :/
Being B&W makes it kind of flat in this case.

This is a great shot. The contrast between the pile of rocks and the mountain is brilliant...well done. +10

Great view and perspective you caught here!

I think the bw is fine!
I just think you need to play a little with levels as it does look somewhat flat.
Also noticeable are some noise in the darker part of the cloud section (upper right and upper left) (this is on my monitor which sometimes might be totally off so :p)

Ditto what Patrick said: nice black and white (although I would like to see the colour as well), but it needs more depth; and I too see the noise. For me, it's the composition of this photo that's particularly striking--just the way everything is positioned relative to each other is perfect (vertically and horizontally).

i agree with moserArtist .. i bit more contrast wouldn't hurt.
otherwise inviting as usual. one can lean back and enjoy the scene while it's your job to climb the mountain ;)

Yep, the contrast could use a little work. Using Levels, I'd lighten the highlights just a smidge and darken the midtones a bit. Beyond that, this is a beautifully composed image full of gorgeous texture. Well done. +8

Agreed the rocks do contrast well with the mountains and grass. The rock pile mirrors the mountain to it's right. Nice decision of black and white.

Beautiful image, although like eveyone has said it seems flat because of the lack of post editing. There are too few shades of grey and they all seem to blend into each other. With a bit of work it would be magnificent. +8

Excellent capture – the lighting on the foreground elements pulls out great texture in the rocks and creates the impression of a vast gulf between it and the mid-ground mountains.
Slightly surreal – looks slightly like a low-budget film set :) … I can imagine Spock, Kirk, and the one you’ve never seen before (who is obviously going to get killed) beaming down in that dark area just in front of the rocks.
It’s a great shot – atmospheric, mysterious and gritty.

I like how it plays with the eye as you look into the photo it is very 3d with well layered contrasts....

Beautiful landscape and stone pile ! Is it a tumulus (tomb) or something else ? However I agree with Patrick (moserArtist) for the noisy parts in upper corners. I would have played too a bit with levels to make the background mountains a bit more misty/foggy. +7/8

thank you all for comments!

noise:
the noise was added in ps. i like the look of the classical b&w photography and the noise is essential in my opinion ;)

color:
the color version is monotonous, cause it wasn´t good weather...

levels:
the image looks a little bit flat, cause theere was a veil of clouds beyond mountains... but you are right, maybe it will be better to spend some time, playing with curves ;)
