Description
Started as some random practice few days ago. I quite like how it turned out.Painted in photoshop. I used a fractal brush for the white light effect, but I had downloaded toomany of them and lost track of which is from whom. Anyway that part is a ready made thing, not my own creation.

thanks for the input. I am still struggling with the face... I can't find a suitable ref yet, and was trying to get it right with some photographs that are not exactly the angle I want. It took several attemps to get it to the state it is now. I am still looking for a better ref, so hopefully I'll fix the issue soon.
Conditional,
Thanks for sharing. I am very surprised to see the picture you show. It's the first time I've notice that such similar comosition exist. No, I am not trying to copy that paricular picture you show. If I were I would not have had so many trouble with anatomy and stuff. People who have seen my work in progress , know how this image has developed over time and reach the state it is now, would know that.
The inspiration of my picture is from one of the photo I took of myself. I like the angle and layout, but didn't want to used my own face as model, so I started an artwork by taking the pose, angle and the composition in my photo, and painting the figures from my head. I had a feeling that this is a very generic theme and composition in fanatsy sort of images, but wasn't awared at all that there would be another artwork with almost identical composition.
I admit these two pictures look very similar. This is however purely coinsident, and might happen just because this is a very common pose and theme. Hope I get this one clear.
If anyone happen to have any doubt of the origianlity of my image, and wish to see the original photo that I claim to be my inspiration, I'm at work and don't have that photo with me now, but I can post it after I get home on request.
It may not prove anything if anyone has already assumed that I copy the composition and idea from the other picture. And I know I'll have no way to prove that I didn't. All I could say is that I repect myself too much to copy someone else work, and any one who's familiar with my past work should know that I have no need to do a copy in such manner.
Sorry if this has sound too defensive. I just don't like to be treated as a thief while I know I am not one.

And here's the photo that I mentioned.
I haven't really look at it since I got my draft done. Now, by seeing at it again, I all of a sudent realised that how close it is to BenF's artwork in the angle and some expression. Since I didn't want to paint a girl who'd look like myself, and have changed my original concept of blowing some mist to form the shape of an tiny elf into something more simple, I wasn't looking at the photo at all during the whole painting process, and was just painting based upon my initial lineart draft. Overtime I change bits and pieces in angle slightly, find some random pictures from fashion magazin as ref for facial parts, and evetually end up with something quite different from the photo.
I am glad that I have made these changes, and I didn't put that tiny elf at the spot where I thought it should go in such composition (you knwo where). Otherwise the coincidence would just be too hard to explain

About the face... my suggestion is to extract a bit of color to the rest of the left part of her face... maybe it avoids the jumping up effect of the colors... and shade the low lid of her left eye... it worked well with an excercise I did with a composition of the same angle some time ago, only a suggestion
Great work as it is now

countless of (boring) frontal portraits rampaging GFX and nobody mentions similarities there...
Yes, these two paintings look similar, but this one can stand on its own 100%.
Great colors and although the face isnt necassarely flawed, I can imagine Michelle not being satisfied with the endresult.
For now its a great piece and I hope to see your definative version.

by the way, you look pretty

Mouth seens a little strange yet, if you refer to the picture.
Funny how poses are similar, and the paintings ended up so different.
