Description
Created entirely in Photoshop - no compositing, or photo manipulation - this was part of a freelance science fiction project... I needed to create several scenes from space looking down on alien worlds. ...And this one is my favorite.For this scene I wanted to capture the vast splendor of space, while generating a sense of foreboding. My first thought was to show as much of the planet as possible and generate the mood through the use of color. However I opted to have only a small portion of the planet's surface illuminated to try and convey a sense that the planet may not be all that it seems, and that it could be hiding something. To further emphasize the mood I chose agitating colors for the nebular cloud in the background.
