Description
My Entry for Design a CD Cover Contest."The lessons of time are silent...
I am beginning to hear now...
I have arrived, I have achieved...
But still...the silence...
I wish I could tell you, I wish I could express...
The futility of it all, the emptiness...
I still love you, may be more now
I wish I could say that...
Victory at last... iI wish I had not won...
The lessons ot time are SHRIEKING..."
(blue silence)
This is my first post on GFXartist
I've tried to create something surreal.
The album name is "Before Epilogue" and band name is "Epitaph", both fictitious.
I've used Photoshop CS2,3ds Max6 .
Hourglass are made in 3ds Max6 rest everything done in photoshop.
Hope you'll like it, comments and critiques are welcome.

A couple of suggestions. Right now, one side of the face is very sharply angled compared to the other side. I would even it out a little bit because it makes it look a little lop-sided. Also, I would either increase the size of the left hourglass or decrease the size of the right hourglass in the background. Right now, all the weight is to the right because of the hourglass in the foreground. Playing with the one on the left would even it out a little bit.
I also very much like the treatment you gave the fonts.
great job and good luck!

I'm not quite sure about the composition... dead center might not be the best place for that head to sit...
Oh, and as someone else mentionned, you would gain a lot of depth to the work by having something happenning in the background. Nothing that takes a lot of attention, just something that makes it more than "just a flat background"...
Keep it up buddy, and post some other works !

this looks so dark and creepy
it feels like that there's a gong about to sound and then some creepy voices and some drum fourths... dum... dum.... dum.... dum.... and coming closer

The front ..... The bird & the head is getting the same attention .
I would darken or change the hue on one of them.
Overall I like it very much. Nice work!

GR8 first submission !!!
Love ur concept !!! strong execution as well !!!
agree with the above comment about adding some light so as to see the shadows !!!
My only small crit would b to make the title of the CD a tad bit brighter.
so that it is readable at the first go !!! Something that will make it stand out on the shelf ..

I don't know if someone said this already, but perhaps you should create a contrast between sky and floor. A brighter sky is more hopefull, a brighter floor is more towards doom (I don't know what the style of music is exactly, the main message). Either way, a bit more interaction between background and objects might improve. Anyway, I like the piece as it is, probably suiting the music on the disc perfectly. Cya
