Description

3D Studio with the Vray render engine. Total render time was 1 hour, 26 minutes and 21 seconds. This one was build from various old parts I had lyring around mixed with elements from illustrator.

I must say that I love Vray, and especially its reflections and brushed metal effects. It's damned fast as well, making it a breeze to work with. This had to be the most complex 3D scene I've ever done, and I learned a lot in doing it. I didn't exactly think in low polygon count when I did it, with most of the objects having way too many polygons, but that just mean I can do closeups as well.

All in all, I think this piece came out really well, and more or less precisely as I wanted it. There's really no deeper meaning, I just like big futuristic guns a lot. Oh, and chains too. And reflections. :)

very nice rendering and use of lighting and texture. good work.... never used 3d max or this vray. Did i read right that you can actually use illustrator in conjunction with 3d max???? or did i get that wrong. anyways im new here but im giving it the highest vote i can.
