Description

This is (supposed to be) a portrait of my best freind maike, prettiest girl i know

. I took a spontaneous photo of her (on monday morning) with her cell phone, and i liked it so much, i did a little sketch of it for fun. she said it looked cool, so i decided to try to draw it on a bigger paper for her.
the problem was, i only had my sketch, not the photo.

i really need help with this, something is wrong...and only one week till christmas! =O

It's very nice! what I'd help is... umm... maybe you can add more detail to the hair on the top, because down is very detailed and great, but upside it looks too straight (not any bad, though)... Or maybe some more shadows there?
Hmm... I should let the more experienced ones help

but by now, I personally like it...

I like this sketch. You did good on the shadows and lightning.
The only crit I would have is that the seem of her shirt on her left (viewers right) shoulder is a bit to low.
But this is a charming sketch indeed, you might post the reference photo as well.

when i was 15 i couldn't sketch like that...great work, i like the absence of the eye's good touch, you don't have to include everything when referencing a model shot...its all about interpretting it, which you have done.

wow, gorgeous hair! I really like it, its a very nice xmas present, me myself I gave my sister a portrait of her, she was very happy. I think people prefer a handmade gift rather than a bought one. really, the hair is beautiful, and the little bit of the face that is visible is pretty too. I'd like to see her picture

something is wrong? mmmm let me think...well the only thing i can say is that since you have no real arm structure showing it some how makes the shirt look like its over sized and baggie...that combiined withthe mood of the hair makes the subject seem young...is the subject very young and child like? was that your intent? does this match the reference? i have no idea...is this a helpful comment...also no idea.

Very nice sketch, tomato04!

The lighting is well done. The only thing that looks a bit off to me is that I can't make out her eyes. I realize that the hair covers them, but we should probably be able to see some lashes or a hint of something underneath the hair.

yeah you're right about the eyes. i've tried to show em somehow but it was pretty difficult with the hair over it. i tried to make it dark enough so that it's not necessary

hehe...also ich finds ohne augen besser...aber das Kinn is zu kurz =P das machst du öfter^^ wollt ich dir nur sagen, bevor ich mich abmelde^^ und wenn ichs dir in der schule sag, dann werd ich nur angemacht, dass ichs ja selber net besser mach (was ich nie behauptet hab) =PP ly weiter so
