Wallace, yeah I had some trouble giving it scales. At first I tried to do them individually, but in the end it looked much better just using crosshatches to give it a somewhat scaley texture.
Chrisgraphics, it is not a photo that has been painted on. I looked at a photo to get a feel for what dew covered grass looks like and tried to layer the picture similarly with blurred foreground and background.
