Neato little painting. It's much better than your first butterfly, IMO. The composition is strong, and I quite like your painterly--but still detailed where it counts--technique. I'm not so sure about your choice to use less saturated colors for the butterfly and super-saturated ones for the backdrop. On the one hand, it's an interesting reversal, since normally I'd think of the butterfly as being very vibrant. But on the flip side, my attention tends to be drawn to the negative space, rather than the lovely details of the creature itself. Could've been your intent, though.
