Description
Met him while he was waiting for his BUS.. We were trying to get snaps of a few duck that were behind him.. A bit of chat with him & I got this shot, with him sitting by a milestone...# Do check the closer, portrait view.. Let me know which one do U guys like..
Well guys...
A BIG sorry for my absence on GFX for most of the last month.. Was out of station for a while !!
Also didn't have my camera[350D] for last 2 months as it was off to Canon for repair. Canon has just given my a brand new one cause they couldn't find the fault
Guess i can be active again here !! AS always Frank C&C is very much welcomed!!

His facial expression is something out of the ordinary
Good use of bw.

By the way - I like the closer portrait, but I think that he should be higher in the frame for better balance - more shoulders would do it.

i'm having a bit of compositional issues here..first of all for me its a bit too cramped, i might have put more space on top and to the right. also, the grey coner in the lower left corner seens a bit distracting too imo
sorry for the nagging comment

Well what can i say, you were very kind to send me the origional file of the image you took on the day...
So after viewing that, all I can say about the image posted above is "WOW" not in the way it is normally posted but to mean I think you produced a first class image and your choice of black and white was and is perfect for this subject.
You have a good eye for photography and any negative crits are really not worth mentioning.. WELL DONE 10+

You could have left his right arm (you see it on the left in the photo) in the frame.
It's a pity the shadow got on the clothes near the bottom, doesn't bother too much, but it would probably be a bit better without it (I'd try cropping it out by cropping a bit of the bottom part, at least just to see whether it works well for the image overall).
Also, it looks slightly tilted (looking at the milestone and the background behind the old man).
Those are just minors, though. It's a pretty good portrait, especially the close portrait.
