Description
This one's been in the works for months, going through several iterations. I guess you could say it's my first serious attempt at a real composition in a while.I started with the concept of Beauty and the Beast, but as I went through the work, it occurred to me that you never really know what's beautiful and what's beastly by appearances alone (moral of the story, I suppose
This was originally 1800x1800 at 450 dpi (4x4 inches). It's done in Photoshop CS2 with 8 layers, some not visible. No refs.
Hope this comes out OK. My JPEGs tend to run a little dark once I save them.

Diane, the forearm is purposely malformed. I wanted it to look like a big club of an arm, you know, to make him look all freaky and weird

Really nice work! The only thing I wanted to point out is the woman's clothing --the drapery folds on the right side of the image seems fluffy as opposed to the left.
The background trees are already ok for my preferences, I think they should remain that way so that focus on the art remains on the foreground.

lovely use of blacks an whites
The forarm is indeed VERY big, but it works for me,
gives the beast more power
The roots of the tree is e bit confusing all the more
so it tends to blend in with the cloth foldings of her dress
Great work all around + 9
