Description

An abstract shot of 2 PPG Place taken on October 31, 2006 at 9:27AM. Philip Johnson designed PPG Place and it continues to draw me in...

This place is where any photographer in Pittsburgh goes to assert his or her first amendment rights to shoot photographs - the guards here are very over-zealous about not allowing photos on premise - even from fully-accessible public sidewalks (without right to do so, of course). If you're allowed to be there, you're allowed to photograph!

f5.0, 1/250 sec, ISO 100, 18mm, Aperture Priority

Great angle and perspective!

Very nice for bw comp!

The company logo on the right is slightly disturbing and distracts the otherwise perfect mood you create here... (unless it is a commercial picture for that specific company :p)

Thanks guys! I appreciate the comments. (Rushi - I haven't forgotten you. I owe you a reply as soon as I can get to it!). RE: the PPG logo - I may take it out and repost, but I framed it in there intentionally for a gallery client here in town. The Pittsburgh Plate Glass company is an enormous corporate icon in Pittsburgh, so it holds valuable local meaning. Thanks for the thoughts! - jason

Wicked black and white shot! I love it! That is really tight, I would love to see it again, with the big solid looking clouds or maybe even in colour with a nice dark blue sky :)
