Description

I haven't been out to shoot, with the weather as wet as it's been. I love winter, but part of me longs for spring already.

This is a portrait of my son from last spring taken alongside a road near our home.

Very nice work Jason,. although I believe it would be even better if you had placed your son in a spot where you could have had the entire background be dandelions. I don't feel the blurred sky and trees add to the composition. Still a very nice portrait.

Cute son!

I'd try a horisontal presentation format for this one maybe.

The area above the field is not on bringing anything sensational (more or less what John stated earlier on already :p)

Patrick - I did try to crop to a horizontal, but this image was shot in portrait. When I cropped it, I ended up with a more or less square format final image, which I didn't like. There's not enough area on either side to allow a horizontal final piece. If I had the chance to go back and reshoot this, I'd shoot it in both formats and also try to block out the background. When I was shooting this, I was thinking that the touch of blue sky would add to the feel of the day, but I've learned quite a lot in the past year... thanks for the critique. - jason

Beautiful sense of wonder. Good DOF on the flowers.
I know you can't do much about the trees & buildings, but they're pretty blurry anyways - it's the blue sky that is most distracting and you might be able to crop this out.

Wonderful shot!! I'd also crop out the sky and blur the background trees a bit more.

beautiful, I think it has been said, and I agree that the sky and trees in the background could be left out, but spring is coming soon and you will have more dandelions! I do love this kind of portrait, babies and flowers and nature and it's oh so sweet! :)

Great capture,

So cuuuuuuuuuuuuute!!!!

It really capture the emotion o the moment and the angelical face of the baby. Well DOF but I must say that i am agree with the comment about the sky and the trees in the back groound, but that just a small detail... TOP MARKS!!!

Keep shooting.
