Nice collaboration. Handling of sea gulls, rocks in foreground, and crab are all at same level of detail as that of main subject. This smaller, yet detailed areas help in support of the composition as a whole. Although you didn't do original drawing, rocks running across background flatten out this piece because it appears to an edge rather than a continuation of the water source. These rocks also make sky appear flat as well, but you did a great job never the less.

Now that explains why it didn't look like your usual style, Diane. The painting is really good, but there seems to be some issues with color saturation (as you said before). Any other than that it's really good. And don't be afraid of posting new stuff. Remember that an artist hast to kee experimenting in order to improve. If you repeat the same formula once and again you won't improve with the pass of the time. Congratulations Diane, you're a very talented artist =)

I love it, great character and the colours are superb. Needs some serious cropping at the top, though, and also some at the bottom (moving the crab up so it doesn't get cut off, of course!) The horizon could do with fading out a little also. Other than that 1st class all round +9/10

i absolutely love this! it's very fresh and a lovely addition to your gallery. i like the fact that the character doesn't have the classic, flawless beauty which many of your characters seem to have. it's a fresh piece which reminds me of spring and summer in these times of cold nordic winter. you did a superb job with the coloring and adding little details to the original drawing. +10
