Description

What started as a basic anatomy practice sketch four months ago...an image transformed and "The Damnation" was born.

Go figure that...

Thanks to a Java chip frappacinno fueled insomnia, I've hopefully managed to put on the finishing touches to this image, though I know later it'll come back to haunt me. Then again when is any picture ever really done?

Excellent job! My only criticism is the torso seems a bit long. Otherwise, everything else looks great!

Fascinating piece:)

Great colours lighting and pose

I think the left arm is a bit off, where the forarm
is attached to the upper arm.
The anatomy is looking good, did you use Burne Hogarth's 'Dynamic figure drawing' as guideline? That book is awesome and I see some familiar shapes and curves in the muscles that reminds me of that book.

Anyway great job and love the wings

Great painting =) great use of colours and posture. Can't see much wrong with the anatomy, if i was to nick pick it'd be that toes are not separated. Nonetheless, that's insignificant when the overall painting is so beautiful. Great art. +8

Great work. The use of negative space complements figure and helps to create a rather appealing composition. Flames are quite realistic to a degree, only some orange may add weight to that area and thus make them appear more realistic because flames usual consist of more than a single color.

Very powerful! the clouds are wonderful! :) I agree with Wallace about the arm though, the thigh also looks a little bit off ;)

If you use Burne Hogarth's dynamic figure drawing, erm.... you really should trash it :(
I've done the same with mine, it's full of mistakes, it's one of the worst anatomy books ever if you want to draw real human anatomy (thighs and abdomen parts are especially wrong in this book), I would recommand you downolading Paul Richer's "Anatomy for Artists", it's actually the best anatomy book you can find and it's free to download (there is a link on CGsociety I think). Burne Hogarth's book can only be used for comics anatomy, but that's all, it's really full of big mistakes... (all my drawing teachers told me that, lots of artists are saying the same!)
The colours are gorgeous, the composition and lighting are wonderful, I love the pose and expression! :)

Lol okay

DYNAMIC FIGURE DRAWING doesn't explore the nuances of quiet poses or the beauty in overweight, underweight, or aged figures.

The book is for idealistic, and expressionistic figures, dynamic poses with an empasize on foreshortening.
The most important thing from this book is to understand the human body in basic shapes like cubes or cones.

I don't know about the inaccuracies, I showed the book to my dad (Anatomy teacher) and brother who are both doctors and they say the basics are allright.

Well thats all i have to say about that:)

"The book is for idealistic, and expressionistic figures, dynamic poses with an empasize on foreshortening." Right ;)
But I've had 3 anatomy teachers that really didn't approve this book because lots of students were trying to learn anatomy using it... It's great when you know the basics so you can avoid doing too many mistakes but anatomy can't be learnt with it.

Sorry for these comments here Stefany (paint) I won't say anything more but :

Your painting is gorgeous

I agree with you, traditional media is in a way more simple, you know always when it's finished, or more of the times.
Digital gives you too much possibilities.
But you managed to finish it, and at the right point! :)
Truly great job.

His legs seem so short o_O
Well men like that might actually exist... besides of that it doesn't take away much from the painting.
It's wonderfully done, great expression, wonderful color palette, and besides of that breaking the line of femalenes in the top10 by showing a man!

Bravo
