Description

Remember my character Krull? That one who adopted a pegasus when he was a little boy? I guess this little thing was not "showable" but since I haven't painted in centuries, this is the only thing I have... sorry guys. I hope you like it.

Done in Adobe Photoshop (I always seem to forget using Painter ¬¬) for about 5 hours (yeah, speedpainting like)... I hope you like.

Sorry if I haven't commented on your artworks, I promise to do it soon.

alebrije: Thanks a lot, I think it needs more contrast.

Maddagone: I appreciatte a lot!

Mmm, I quite like those colors. Good for you bringing a variety of hues into the skin; that definitely adds a lot of life. I really like the nose too, 'cause it has a lot of character. :) I agree with you that a broader range of values would punch this up a notch. Also, I think closer attention to the form of the eyes would instantly infuse the image with more interest, realism, and expressiveness.

Skyllberg: I also thought of that when I saw it finished... but I'm too lazy, lol. Thanks for advice!

Madanapale: Thanks dude! They were difficult to figure out.

chickenfingers: I appreciate a lot your feedback... I always learn a lot from that replies... Thanks!

anjey: so, his nose should be flat then... lol, just kidding! Thanks for feedback, see you around.

BillCorbett: isn't enough with this highlights? must be because of the lack of contrast... thank you!

Dutch-Memory: Thank you.

Daykan: Thanks!

cupcake: oooh my friend!!! thank you!!!

well, i understand it's a speedpainting, but i think you should be careful to give the whole piece the same amout of detail. right now the irises are super sharp, the mouth line is sharp, but the rest of the face is sorta blurry and undefined, especially the eyebrows and hair. the skin tones are quite nice however, it's great to see you've worked with blending the colors, and also the lighting is quite beautiful

Obscured: Nice point! One thing I don't like about my pictures is the excessive smoothness on some parts, i can't figure out the way to fix this. Thank you sweetie!

zaclab: Thanks man!

Avatar killadore

i think you just have to be careful to concentrate on all important parts of the painting equally. i used to have this same problem with my drawings. used to make super-detailed eyes and mouth because those parts grabbed my attention first about the portrait, and then the rest would sort of get done rather quickly and without much effort. one thing that helped me a lot was using references. because then you notice all kinds of little details all around the figure which are essential in making a well balanced artwork. hope that helps :)

Oh no, it's not. If you look at the reference is a photo of Tobey Maguire. Thanks a lot for your comment and greetings!

Hello! I can see your progression from your works to this one. I think you have a good use of colors in the skin, in general, it's very well done. Like killadore mentioned, I wish you focused on the entire scene (even if a portrait) rather than on parts; hair, lighting, mood, background, shoulder. I know it's a speedpaint, but I can also assure you a quick study is more fun when the subject "appears" from the scene rather than trying to put the subject in one - if that makes any sense. One crit though is the marks on the left and top in the background, VERY distracting and unnecessary, don't worry about ornamentation like that. Keep up the work, show us more! +8/10

OOh well, you're right indeed, lol. Sometimes that happens with my signature, Thanks a lot!

By the way, I just noticed... he seems to have some makeup on his eyel lids ¬¬
