Description

This is one out of three pin-up ladies I painted for Kennedy & Monk for the computer game “Battlestations Midway” from EIDOS. It was a different and very exiting experience working on these illustrations. They were heavily art directed by a very talented director, and we had a good time developing this

The game is available on XBox-360 and PC.

Painted using Photoshop CS2 with a Wacom Intuos tablet. I spent MANY hours on this one, I don’t know how many exactly. We studied lots of pictures by old-school pin-up artists, like Vargas.

Original size is 10000 pixels tall.

in my honest opinion..the head is off, her waist looks lil strange..little too thin and twisted .......and that ground perspective and shadow looks strange..looks like someone pasted her on that ground..the placement of her right foot's outer malleolus isnt looking proper...she looks little scary to me..sorry, but i just told u my opinion..and that could be wrong....hope u dont mind...
but i really love ur works..the way u render..its just great !

I love the shadings on the skin, esp her legs. THey're almost realistically rendered. a good one in the series!
the only anatomy problem I see (but then again I can't talk because my sense of anatomy is probably isn't that great) is that her left foot seems to be a bit bigger than her right.
not a major biggie though, you still rawk XD

You have great works on your website and this is not one of them.
I saw your step by step... is a lot better the fourth image (grayscale), you dont translate very well some shapes and values on the color version ,specially on her arms and face, I can see a more interesting volume and contrast in that grayscale version.
About the head I think you miss some construction lines in some stage of the process, Im not sure but I think the centerline isnn't logic if you have to translate the shapes into a side view profile, I mean, something is wrong there.

I agree with Kayness about the foot issue, but I would add that her hair's falling oddly, not enough vertically... or is it me?
Otherwise great work on textures and skin tones again!
