Description
Petals.....Traditions are getting lost in my country, specially in the large cities......Fortunately people in little towns preserve them.....
Picture taken in Nejapa......
After their first comunion children participate in a religious parade and the little girls throw petals as they walk by the streets...

I'm not too fond of the headless torsos in the background but I'm sure it was unavoidable.

Can you imagine a 63 years old walking backwards!......LOL
I really apreciate your comments.......Thanks for allways being there.

There seems to be some halo effect from post editing around 2 of those red flowers that you so dearly wanted to catch. That should be possible to "clean" up (might be my monitor though as my eyes are no longer what they used to be
Good choice for selective saturation! The negative effect though is that the dresses all are gray instead of white
I think it would have been a stronger composition if the 3 background figures were slightly blurred.
Her facial expression and "serious" smile is payless - Just wonderful!
Good eye for beauty Mr Carlos (as if that was a surprise)!

you've captured the mood very (!!) well! the desaturation works just perfect! the other dresses may look grey, but imho this let her pop more out, so it's fine.
the little "glow" around the red flowers could be fixed easily...
A great work! Carlos you've outranged yourself once more!
top marks!

I like the look on her face.
Good work Carlos.
07/30/07 @560
but the capture is fantastic even with some technical problems
good work

Agree about the glow around petals, probably caused due to the soft brush..
But thats nit picking !!
Top Marks as usual

the halo is probably the result of a little trick to increase the details on the dress without sharpening.

I honestly don't recall the last time I felt a need to give you less than a 9. I know the next one will be a 20!

The black halos look a bit odd (frankly, scary even).

I actually never thought the croppping of the heads was going to be a problem because they are not the main subject and as you said they don't belong to the little magic world of the children.

I like also the Martin's interpretation, now girl looks even more happy and innocent, being in the world of the childern.

The black & white and the colors particulars works very well and I like it a lot... but for me the subject is a bit too contrast. The White is good !
PS: Beautiful moment !

I love the black and white areas (her dress looks like sculpted marble!), and I think the cropping and overall sharpness is perfectly fine.. she holds her own amidst everything that surrounds her.
And it is truly inspiring that that you have made such an elegantly understated "comment" concerning the two areas that you chose to leave color - the child's face/arm and the flowers petals... so much alike they are...a beautiful visual metaphor. A great idea that never occurred to me, until I saw this piece! It is good to see children from your country like this! Top Marks! 8/8
PS: Sorry for the late post, but I have been consumed with making music lately.
