Description

Another photo hunting day with my photography partner  Mert. This is a panorama shot of Kocatepe Mosque. I've captured 4 photos (up 2 part, down 2 part) then merged and post processed them with Photoshop CS3.

Kocatepe Mosque is the largest mosque in Ankara, the Turkish capital. It was built between 1967 and 1987 in the Kocatepe quarter in Kizilay, and its size and prominent situation have made it a landmark that can be seen from almost anywhere in central Ankara...

Beautiful black and white!......Impressive building!
I would have moved a little to the side in order not to hide the tip of the dome with the tall structure at the front.

Very nice feeling, and like Carlos said felt i was at once trying to look around that pillar to see what was behind it :)

Nice description, always nice to know what your looking at =)

Welcome to the elite ;)
Great choice for bw!

The 2x2 panorama works well.

Carlos has a point in selecting the right angle but it is still a very impressive composition.

I have only done panorama shots in one direction ie horizontal. Maybe you explain how you go about to do it in 2 directions in one go? Just a bit curious on the technique... :p

Congratulations. And a nice first elite post. Works well in b&w. Just for kicks, I'd suggest trying a square crop to only include the right half of the photo.
