Happy halloween everyone!!! Here's a matte painting for the season. I never really explored this area that much until now. I recently ran across a tutorial about how it's done and I thought I'd give it a try. I love how it turned out.
Almost all of the images here come from different photographs... the house, the dead trees, the fields, the raven (where is it?) etc... i had to do a lot of adjustments on color balance, saturation and all. The burn, dodge, clone and sponge tool helped everything blend seamlessly. Burn to correct the shadows, dodge for the highlights, clone for reconstructing some areas and the sponge for desaturating some of the parts that dodge and burn overdid.

After all the photos were in the right color, i added the rain and some other touches for a painted effect. I used the dodge tool and sponge for the window. Who's in the creepy house???
